# Staking Incentives

<figure><img src="/files/O0BE8cxNg5knG39N2uws" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

OpenVision’s staking system is designed to reward long-term commitment, align governance
\
with meaningful participation, and reinforce compute reliability

* **Staking Lockups:** Users who stake $VISION can lock their tokens for 1–36 months
  \
in exchange for reward multipliers and increasing tiers of influence.
* Compute Task Boost: Top-tier stakers get access to high-value vision training tasks,
  \
better job matching, and more lucrative fine-tuning jobs.
* Reward Tiers: Dynamic reward boosts tied to stake size, lockup duration, and task
  \
  completion history.
* Governance Power: Voting weight increases with longer stake durations, enabling
  \
protocol-aligned participants to drive roadmap decisions.
* **Validator Slashing:** Staked compute nodes are slashed for verified malicious
  \
behavior, low task quality, or protocol-level violations to maintain trust in the network.
